What size urn should I buy?

At GetUrns, urn sizes are measured by the volume of ashes they hold in cubic inches. As a guide, one pound of body weight equals approximately one cubic inch of remains. For example, if your loved one weighed 150 lbs, you’ll need an urn that holds at least 150 cubic inches. Most standard adult urns hold 200 cubic inches. Each product listing includes the urn’s capacity, and you can also use our collection page filters to find the right size based on weight.

How do I care for and clean the urn?

We recommend gently wiping the urn with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or fingerprints. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the finish. With simple, careful cleaning, your urn will remain a lasting and beautiful tribute.

    Do you offer urn engraving?

At GetUrns, most urns can be customized with personalized engraving and is laser-engraved or UV printed in-house with your choice of names, dates, phrases, fonts, and artwork. Our designers can help you create a unique, meaningful tribute that beautifully honors your loved one. If you’re looking for a custom design not shown in our options, please fill out this form and our team will be happy to work with you.

    How durable are these urns?

Brass and aluminum urns are both highly durable options.

Brass urns are known for their exceptional strength and long-lasting quality. They are resistant to corrosion and maintain their finish well over time, making them ideal for long-term indoor display or placement in protected areas.

Aluminum/Alloy urns are lightweight yet strong, and they also resist rust and corrosion. While not quite as heavy or dense as brass, they still provide excellent durability for everyday handling and display.

Both materials hold up very well when kept indoors and are less fragile than ceramic or porcelain urns. They can last for generations with proper care.

How do I fill a cremation urn with ashes?

Most of our urns for ashes are designed with either a screw-off top or a bottom screw for easy access. To fill the cremation urn, simply open the designated panel and carefully load the ashes directly into the urn. Once filled, securely tighten the lid or bottom screw.  A funeral home often times can assist with filling the urn if preferred.

How do I choose an urn for my pet?

Choose a pet urn based on your pet’s size, the style you prefer, and whether you want personalization like engraving, a photo, or a paw print.

What size urn do I need for my pet?

Pet urns are measured in cubic inches. A simple rule is 1 pound of pet weight = 1 cubic inch of urn capacity. For example, a 20-pound pet needs at least a 20-cubic-inch urn.

    What is pet cremation jewelry?

Pet cremation jewelry is a wearable keepsake that holds a small amount of your pet’s ashes. It’s often available as a pendant, charm, or locket, and many designs feature paw prints.

Do you offer pet urn engraving?

At GetUrns, each urn can be customized with personalized engraving and is laser-engraved or UV printed in-house with your choice of names, dates, phrases, fonts, and artwork. Our designers can help you create a unique, meaningful tribute that beautifully honors your loved one. Q&A

Does the wings of hope Does it come with a fill kit
Hello, It does not come with a filling kit.
On the wings of hope urn Does it= lay completely flat? Or is the bottom flat and the wings raised up ? Also is there something included to put remains in safely? Thanks
Hello, The base of the urn is flat, while the wings are projected up and forward.
How do you open the urn to insert ashes?
The opening is on the bottom of the urn. There is a black felt circle, remove the gold logo sticker and a line will appear. Using a quarter or other straight edge, insert that into the line and twist to the left to unscrew the threaded bottom.
